When doing steel design in FEM-Design, there might be some situations when there is a warning message about some sections where design is not implemented. It can happen in regular steel design or in fire design.
Below is a table that shows which section types have regular design and steel design implemented in FEM-Design.
Yes*: When the section is registered, it is assigned to one of the shape cathegories mentioned in the table above. In case of Cathegory SECSHAPE_CBU, SECSHAPE_RCM and SECSHAPE_D the section needs some geometric preprocessing to make it useable for design calculation. In case of too strange geometry this process may fail, and the message "Design calculation is not implemented for this section" comes.
Tip: To see which type of section FEM-Design recognizes, just open the library (for example, open a Beam tool and press the Default setting button) and hover over the section image. You can see the section type in the bottom right corner.
