Problem
If your FEM-Design 3D Structure model file opens in an older version, or does not open at all when you double-click it, the cause is usually an incorrect file association. The file may be set to open with an older version or with an unknown application instead of the latest FEM-Design 3D Structure version.
Solution 1: Update file association manually
Right-click the model file and select Properties.
Under “Opens with”, choose the latest FEM-Design version (fd3dstruct.exe).
Confirm and close the dialog.
Solution 2: Repair FEM-Design installation
If the file association does not update correctly, run a repair of your FEM-Design installation.
After the repair is complete, repeat the steps in Solution 1. The file should then open with the correct version.
